Social Service Ministries
Our social services ministries are clearly rooted in our shared concern for social justice, and take many forms. We move our mission with the materially poor from vision to action through several dynamic social service programs, and have established services that end family homelessness, build community, and challenge systems that threaten basic human rights.
In the United States, we have developed a program that strengthens our work by bringing Notre Dame/AmeriCorps volunteers (Notre Dame Mission Volunteers) into our educational endeavors each year. Much of the social service work we do is conducted through education programs, while other services bring us into diverse spheres of society, including social policy, law, mental health, medical care, housing, financial planning and care for families and the elderly.
